Meet Clayton

Award-winning Houston broker Clayton Katz has built his real estate career the same way he approaches every transaction: by learning the fundamentals, putting in the work, and paying close attention to detail. Growing up around residential construction gave him early exposure to how homes are actually built, but it was years of hands-on experience in the field that shaped his practical understanding of quality, value, and craftsmanship. Today, that knowledge helps his buyers and sellers make confident, informed decisions.

A lifelong Houstonian, Clayton pairs his technical understanding of homes with deep firsthand knowledge of the city’s neighborhoods, markets, and micro trends. He is known for being diligent and highly responsive, with a strong command of both current market data and the technology that drives modern real estate transactions. A founding member of Compass Houston Luxury Advisors, he is recognized among the brokerage’s top agents specializing in Houston’s high-end residential market. Clayton also brings a passion for interior design, helping guide clients through renovations and future planning for their homes.

That approach has produced consistent results. Clayton has closed more than $200 million in transactions and has earned numerous industry recognitions, including being named Houston Business Journal’s 2019 Top Luxury Real Estate Agent and consistently ranking among the top luxury agents in the city. Over more than two decades in the business, however, he measures success less by awards and more by long term client relationships, repeat business, and referrals. While he has been involved in many of Houston’s largest and most notable home transactions, he works across all price points with the same unwavering level of service.

Clayton attended River Oaks Baptist School and Episcopal High School before graduating from Colorado State University. Outside of real estate, you will most likely find him on the tennis court at The Forest Club or working on projects at home and in the garden with his family.
